Course Overview
To encourage primary and secondary students whose first language is not Chinese to study the language, and to develop and raise their Chinese ability, Hanban (the Chinese National Office for Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language) has, since 2004, brought together specialists in Chinese language teaching, linguistics, psychology and educational measurement from China and abroad. On the basis of extensive research into how Chinese is actually taught in schools overseas, they developed the new Youth Chinese Test (YCT).
